Wayne Cresser's journey into the world of literature began decades ago when he started writing about Pop Culture for various newspapers and periodicals. After he transitioned from part-time writer to full-time academic, he started writing fiction. He now lives on an island in Narragansett Bay, with his wife, Nancy, and loyal canine pal, Jimmy. What started as a passion for storytelling soon blossomed into a flourishing career, marked by his notable contributions to the literary world.
Taking Chekhov, Joyce, Anderson, Twain, Thurber and Spalding Gray as inspiration, I try to create concise narratives in which the ordinary becomes the unexpected and the humans involved attempt to grow from their experience. Each piece I create is driven by a desire to go beyond dry themes and emphasize personal growth, the complexities of relationships, and the pivotal moments that define our existence. Through the heartfelt expression of prose in various forms, my aim is to forge profound connections with readers. I strive to offer insights that not only resonate but also enrich our collective human experience, fostering understanding and empathy in our shared journey through life.
